Rules
This competition is a fun 2 – phase competition, made up of a Control of Paces section, followed immediately by the PTV (Obstacle section) as per TREC GB rules. This competition follows TREC GB rules but is an unaffiliated competition run by Fife Riding Club.
Control of Paces – a 150m long corridor will be marked out. Riders must canter along it as slowly as they can, without breaking pace. They then must turn around and walk back along it as fast as they can, again without breaking pace. Scores for each pace are on a sliding scale of up to 30 points depending on speed, giving a maximum score of 60 points possible. Any break of pace, e.g. steps of trot, will give a score of ZERO for that pace. If your horse passes outside of the corridor between the start/finish gates then that is also a zero for that pace. Class 4 will be trot along the corridor and then walk back.
PTV (Obstacle section) – this will be a course of 10-12 obstacles, e.g. corridor, S-bend, Immobility, Figure of 8. Each obstacle has a maximum score of 10 points. An obstacle can be missed out as long as you inform the judge that you do not intend to attempt it – e.g. if you do not want to jump a fence you will just score a 0 for that obstacle but you will not be eliminated. The course plan will be displayed, along with scoring details, at least 30 minutes before the competition starts, and all scoring will be as per the TREC GB rulebook (available on line). Time will be available to walk the course, and the course builder will be available to answer any questions. All jumps will be knockdown type.
You can enter as many of the Individual classes as you wish, but you can only enter each individual class with the same horse/rider combination competitively once. If you wish to do a second run in a class that you have already run in you can do so HC/non-competitively.
ENTRY IS VIA THE ENTRY SYSTEM ON THE FIFE RIDING CLUB EVENTS WEBPAGE
CLASS 5 IS FREE BUT HAS NO SEPARATE ENTRY CLASS ON THE SYSTEM AS IT DOES NOT ALLOW FOR FREE CLASSES - PLEASE JUST ANSWER THE QUESTIONS ABOUT TEAMS AS THEY POP UP DURING ENTRY
