History Walk - Tuesday 1 July at 10am
A historic wander with Liz Smith ( https://thegreenockian.blogspot.com)
- as she tells us about the life of John Galt, Scottish novelist, entrepreneur and political and social commentator who spent much of his life in Greenock.
Our walk will include a visit to the site of his former family home, his grave in Inverkip Street Cemetery and will finish around midday at Lyle Gateway on Union Street where you can join us for coffee or lunch at the Community Cafe.
Open to all. We will be walking for up to 2 hours total with limited places to stop to rest, although we will have lots of standing stops on route to hear from Liz about the places we are passing.
**comment below or email amVubmkgfCBseWxlZ2F0ZXdheSAhIGNvbQ==, if you wish to come along for the walk or feel free to join us at Lyle Gateway (31 Union St) around midday for lunch and a Gateway Walkers catch up after the walk.
