‘Iolanthe’ in concert

Award winning Grantham Operatic Society (GOS) are delighted to present a concert version of the comic operetta ‘Iolanthe’ by Gilbert and Sullivan.

Iolanthe, a fairy, commits the ultimate crime of marrying a human. Fast forward 20 years, and her half-human, half-fairy son now wishes to marry a human himself – but it’s a crime punishable by death.

Left with no choice, Iolanthe and the fairies set out to challenge this law…

Featuring a stunning score and brilliant comedy, join our feisty fairies as they take on the dim-witted peers of the realm and the British system of government.

Performed on Saturday 30th August 2025 only in the beautiful setting of St Wulfram’s Church, Grantham. There are two performances - a 2.30pm matinee and a 7.30pm evening performance.

Advance tickets priced at £10 and £5 (under 16s only) are available from the St Wulfram’s Parish Office (cash only) and https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/grantham-operatic-society

Tickets available on the door priced at £12 only. All seating is unreserved and the coffee shop (matinee) and bar (evening) will be open throughout.
