Time for a short winter ride in our spectacular backyard.
The plan:
We meet and leave Groundup cafe (15 Paekakariki Hill Road) at 9am. I will be there a bit earlier for a coffee if you wanted to join for something warm.
From there we will head up through Waikanae to the top of Akatarawa road at the entrance of Odlins. For those wanting to meet here please be at the summit carpark at 9:45am.
We will help each other and enjoy the ride through this spectacular track with a few sections to challenge your skills and a few views you will remember down to the hutt. From there if water levels permit we will head past the hutt and keep making our way to the end of the track.
Even though we have checked out the track two weeks ago and it is in good shape this is still not a ride for beginners and some good off road tires are definitely a must.
This will be a in and out track so if you get to a point where you feel out of your depth you can turn around and the group will come past again later in the day.
