Pollinator Monitoring Scheme (PoMS) Flower Insect Timed (FIT) are a citizen scientist project, easy to do and a great way to support your local wildlife and enjoy your nearest park, garden or green space.
Flower-Insect Timed Counts
Spend ten minutes watching flowers and insects in good weather! This simple survey collects data on the total number of insects that visit a particular flower, ideally chosen from our list of 14 target flowers. FIT Counts can be done anywhere, including gardens and parks, in warm, dry weather during daylight hours from 1 April to 30 September."
Pollinator ID we will also do a identification session at each count.
All equipment and guidance will be provided. Please wear walking boots or trainers we maybe using woodland, meadows or parkland areas depending on the flower source.
This event is weather dependent if its under 13 degrees or raining we will have to reschedule.
This is a free drop in session, children must be accompanied by an adult.
