The LaCrosse Lions Club will be selling freshly grilled pork chops and pork burgers on Saturday, July 5, at the corner of highways 421 and 8. The cost is $5.00 per chop, $4.00 per pork burger, and $3.00 for potato salad. Soft drinks will also be available for sale. Plus, there will be dessert, featuring the return of the much-loved Amish hand pies, available for $4.00. This will begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue until the pork chops and pork burgers are sold, so come early to get yours! Uncooked seasoned chops and burgers are also available upon request.
The proceeds from this event will go toward LaCrosse Lions Club projects such as the annual Easter Egg Hunt and the Halloween costume parade. In addition to these local club events, the Lions Club also donates to local clubs and organizations. They also help with other endeavors, too. The local chapter donates funds to Indiana’s core projects, focusing on the Leader Dogs for the blind, the Indiana School for the Blind, screenings for speech, hearing, vision, cancer, and the eye and tissue bank. Then, they also donate funds to the Lions Club International Foundation. LCIF helps Lions improve the lives of millions of people through four pillars of service: saving sight, supporting youth, providing disaster relief, and meeting humanitarian needs, which includes distributing funds worldwide to assist during catastrophes.
