Members of Waleed Kush Afro-Jazz call themselves "humanity practitioners" and see their music as a healing art form. Waleed Abdulhamid, a Sudanese multi-instrumentalist, composer, and singer, leads this Toronto-based quartet. African rhythms and American jazz harmonies are woven together in their music to create a beautiful tapestry that cuts across boundaries and genres. Every performance serves as both a show and an invitation to partake in a common musical experience. This concept is reflected in their engaging seminars, which place a strong emphasis on mentoring, reciprocal learning, and cross-generational and cross-cultural idea sharing.
