This fun after-school program covers an introduction to gardening, learning how to plant, grow, harvest and share the delicious fruit, vegetables and herbs the children and their carers grow.
It runs weekly in line with the Wednesday garden market and you can pay as you go to suit busy schedules. You don't have to be garden members to come along to these sessions, they are open to all.
Activities can include almost anything. Think soil preparation, planting seeds, caring for plants, harvesting, visiting the chooks, feeding the worm farm and composting and more. They will also help build habitat for wildlife and learn some garden ecology.
$5 per session, runs 4pm-4.45pm. Carers must stay with children for the whole session.
Once a month, we have a longer kids in the kitchen session as well as school holidays sessions. Check out wcg3280.org.au/kids to book.
