The History on the Choptank River cruise offers a two-hour exploration of the river’s rich past, guided by a local historian. Along the way, you'll hear about key historical moments, such as Native American history, the Revolutionary War, the Choptank's role in the Women's Suffrage movement, and its connection to the Underground Railroad. There are artifacts, books, photos, and documents for you to peruse for an immersive experience. As you cruise, enjoy the peaceful beauty of the river’s flora and fauna. Tickets are $32 per person and include a spread of light snacks and beverages. History on the Choptank Cruises will be from 9am - 11am in June, July, and August and 10am - 12pm in September.
Our river cruiser is Coast Guard Certified and is wheelchair accessible. A restroom is available on board. Those with specific diets or food allergies should let us know ahead of time so we can arrange our snack inclusions accordingly. No outside food or beverages (excluding water) are permitted on board. Those who use mobility devices please specify in advance. Parties larger than 10 are encouraged to charter a private cruise to allow the public to take advantage of these cruises. Please try not to arrive more than 15 minutes prior to your cruise's start time as we cannot accommodate you before this threshold. Guests are encouraged to use the portable restrooms near the parking lot to reserve the use of the vessel's restroom - we don't want you to miss a thing!
We encourage everyone to wear weather-appropriate clothing (always subtract about 10 degrees from the expected temperature when going out on the water), hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, and bug spray at their discretion. The boat is shaded, however we'd rather you be safe than sorry.
Wheelchair/Handicap Accessible Boarding takes place at our neighboring Yacht Club's dock (10287 River Landing Rd, Denton, MD 21629). If we have one or more guests who needs to utilize accessible boarding, we will alert all ticket holders to board at the neighboring dock!
Cancellation decisions due to weather will be made at 7pm the night before your cruise date. Please be prepared to check your phone or email in case of a weather-related cancellation. We cannot operate in rain, heavy fog, or high wind.
Feel free to email us at cml2ZXJydW5jcnVpc2UgfCBnbWFpbCAhIGNvbQ== with questions or concerns.
