Join the Ontario Soil Network and Ecological Farmers Association of Ontario at Woodleigh Farms in Cavan for a field event hosted by Norm Lamothe, highlighting innovative nitrogen management research happening on the farm.
We’ll dig into three current trials:
* Adaptive Nitrogen Trials (ANT): A collaboration between OSN, EFAO, and Farmers for Climate Solutions, helping farmers assess the profitability of different nitrogen rates in corn following cover crops.
* Plant Available Nitrogen (PAN): A continuing EFAO trial investigating how cover crops contribute to nitrogen availability for the next growing season.
* Living Lab – Ontario (LL-ON): A nitrogen efficiency project testing strategies like inhibitors and incorporation techniques to boost yields and reduce emissions.
This event is a Knowledge Sharing Event (KSE) for farmers participating in On-Farm Climate Action Fund (OFCAF) projects under the Nitrogen Management category. It also qualifies for 2 Nutrient Management CEUs for Certified Crop Advisers and other professionals.
This event is funded in part by the Farmers for Climate Solutions FaRM Program.
