The Owls @ Tanswells (FREE IN THE FRONT BAR)

Following the recent release of their cracking new track 'Gilded Morning' the Owls bring their jangly alt-country back to Tanswells for a show on August 2.
With their layered, tangle guitars and extended jams the Owls hit a sweet spot somewhere between Television and the Grateful Dead on 'Gilded Morning' as the tune rolls on through a valley of discovery and reawakening, picking up momentum as it goes.
The Owls are a four-piece alternative rock band, blending rhythm and blues, alt-country and folk influences with psychedelic textures and poetic songwriting. With influences like the Velvet Underground, Crazy Horse and early Fleetwood Mac clear to heart, their sound is somewhat familiar, yet somehow remains hard to pin down, offering something earthy, unfiltered, expressive and impossible to fake. Their sound hangs on strong melodies and songs that mean something, songs that linger with you long after the last note.
