Beechworth Landcare are extending the Lake Sambell Claybanks project. This new revegetation area is being developed above the lake and is a key drainage site for the lake. A settling pond has been dug by the Shire on the vacant block between 15 and 17 Lower Stanley Road. This working bee has been organised to plant new seedlings around the settling pond. In the future this will be wonderful habitat for frogs, birds, small mammals and reptiles (and a lovely sitting area with great views across the lake).
Activity: seedling planting and installing tree guards
Parking: Lower Stanley Road above the vacant block
Meeting Point: near the future frog pond!
Landcare contact and RSVP: Libby Hosking 0417 286 639
What to bring: gloves and a digging tool
BULS provide: hi-vis vests and a few digging tools
Great views across the Lake, successful reveg project, good company, a cuppa afterwards. See you there
