Festival of Dance Annapolis Royal leaps into its second decade with the 11th edition of the Festival. This year FODAR will look to its past and celebrate its future with a diverse group of world class artists and productions which run the spectrum from the quirky and light hearted to the deeply probing and personal.

FODAR 2025 Rundown

MAINSTAGE shows run with two different programs on alternate days.

PROGRAM ONE (July 17 at 7:30pm & July 19 at 2:00pm)
– A new solo by award-winning Halifax choreographer Lydia Zimmer.
– Legendary street dancer and choreographer Lady C performs her Dora Award
winning work Cymatix. This mesmerizing production explores the visual
interpretation of sound and texture and the audio interpretation of movement,
using techniques from Popping, Boogaloo, Animation, Waving, Ticking and other
related Street Dance.
– BBoy Crazy Smooth is one of Canada’s top street dance ambassadors and
founder of the award-winning dance company BBoyism. Now Artistic Director of
the company 10 Gates Dancing, he brings some of Canada’s finest street dancers
to the festival to premiere his new work Boundaries.

PROGRAM TWO (July 18 & 19 at 7:30pm)
Two riveting new duets showcase four of Canada’s finest contemporary dancers.
– Miyeko Ferguson and Jera Wolfe perform Jera’s new work Tethered.
– Marrin Jessome and Brayden Jamil Cairns dance Jumelle(s), choreographed by
Marrin.
– The festival presents the revival of a Canadian Modern Dance classic, Randy
Glynn’s After Godot. The work made its debut to critical acclaim in 1983. It will
be danced by Connor Mitton, Sully Malaeb Proux, Miyeko Ferguson and Randy
Glynn.
