Is your pie the best in town? Let's find out.
🥧 Entry Info:
All types of pies are welcome—homemade or semi-homemade (store-bought crusts or fillings are allowed).
Each contestant must submit at least one pie for the judging panel.
You may bring additional pies for public tasting, but it is not required.
Pies must be delivered to Bandera Brewery by 4:00 p.m. sharp on contest day.
Each entry must include a description sheet listing:
The name/type of the pie
Any key ingredients or allergens (e.g., nuts, dairy, gluten)
Any fun facts or special info you'd like the judges to know
🧑⚖️ Judging:
Judging will begin promptly at 4:15 p.m.
A panel of three judges will evaluate pies based on:
Appearance
Crust
Filling
Overall Flavor
Originality(50 points total – see detailed judging criteria)
Tie-Breakers:
In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined by the following criteria, in order:
Flavor
Filling
Crust
If still tied, the judges will make a final group decision to declare a winner.
Top three winners will be recognized.
In the event of limited entries, Bandera Brewery reserves the right to award fewer than three prizes.
Winners will be announced immediately after judging concludes.
🗳️ Public Tasting:
Following the winner announcement, we will open public tasting.
Tasting tickets will be sold for $1 each.
Bring extra pie if you’d like to share with the crowd!
All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Bandera Brewery Scholarship Fund, supporting local students.
✅ Rules Summary:
One pie required for judging. Additional pies optional for public tasting.
Pies must arrive at Bandera Brewery by 4:00 p.m.
