Community Crash Analysis - Dalton Ave

Do you wish you could do something to make our streets safer? So do I. Join me in taking action at this site of a recent fatal crash to be sure this never happens again.

It’s been a little while - I’ve been on a hiatus from PCDC for most of 2025 so far as I focus more on work, personal life, and coffee making. But Pittsfield’s streets and public spaces are still in need, as we regretfully learned over the weekend as another person walking was killed crossing the street in the city, on Dalton Ave near Benedict Road.

This is a time to take quick action and bring the local community together - to take a hard look at this deadly street and formulate short and long term solutions for this neighborhood.

On Sunday, July 6 at noon, I will be hosting an on-site community crash analysis, utilizing the Strong Towns Crash Analysis Studio model to look at the conditions on the ground, get immediate feedback, and discuss next steps. We’ll start at the Dunkin’ Donuts at 84 Dalton Ave. (Please park nearby on a side street if you drive)

I realize this is a holiday weekend, however it would be the last opportunity to conduct this event until August, as I will be away for the four weeks that follow (more on that soon). I don’t want to lose the urgency of the situation so I invite you to join me for an hour or so on Sunday afternoon if you are at all able - rain or shine (unless there’s a thunderstorm).

I hope to see you there.
