Biography

Growing up in the Northwoods of Wisconsin might not seem like the best place to hear and learn Rock n’ Roll, Soul, Funk, Jazz, Blues, and Roots, however music has a tendency to find individuals who are looking and willing to create it. Now celebrating his 30th year of playing guitar and performing, a Nick Foytik performance features the originality of a self-taught musician that constantly seeks ways to improve, a professionality that comes with years of traveling and practicing, and an energy that mirrors his undying love for playing music.

Over the years, Nick adapted his playing from performing exclusively with a band or a guitar-for-hire, to being able to play solo shows that are fun and engaging for both performer and listeners alike. With a knowledge of open tunings, a fingerstyle approach that pulls influence from Folk, Wes Montgomery, Piedmont Blues, and Delta Blues, and nearly 20 years of playing slide guitar, the versatility he has been able to add to his repertoire has built over time to create a sound authentic to himself.

Nick has recorded two albums (Up and Downstream and About Time), both featuring 100% original material. He has been touring for the past 15 years, playing the finest wineries, breweries, and bars the Midwest has to offer. Nick has also played a number of festivals and community concert series through the years, including Bonfire Music Festival at Driftless Music Gardens, Cheech’s Deecefest, Blues on the Chippewa, and Tuesday Night Blues.

After the dust settled post 2020, Nick started re-assembling his band, the Nick Foytik Band. Now working as a four-piece, the Nick Foytik Band plays Rock n’ Roll and Soul, along with Funk and Blues. With a mix of feel-good covers and some of Nick’s original work, the band has plans to record some of Nick’s tunes from his previous two albums, along with a couple new originals to release as a debut on all streaming services in late 2025. Additional plans include a new all original album scheduled to be released in time for the festival season of 2026.
