Autum Equinox- Many Paths, One Forest

Mabon, also known as Harvest Home or Alban Elfed in Druidry, celebrates the second harvest and the balance of light and dark. For ancient Celts, this was a time to honor the Earth’s abundance and prepare for the coming winter. Modern Druids and Pagans often gather for feasts, rituals of gratitude, and acts of balance, such as donating food or resources to those in need.

Mabon also resonates with traditions like the Greek Eleusinian Mysteries, which celebrated Demeter and Persephone’s myth of the harvest and the underworld. Today, Mabon rituals may involve decorating altars with autumn symbols like apples, corn, and wine, meditating on the cycles of life and death, and celebrating with friends and family. It is a reflective and grounding time in the wheel of the year.
