Join our Drawing Classes with Instructor Maryam Safajoo!
Maryam Safajoo is a Persian American painter and visual ethnographer. Maryam’s paintings are part of the permanent collections of institutions such as the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; the Nobel Prize Museum and the Crocker Art Museum. Her work has been featured by major medica outlets including the BBC and Voice of America. A recipient of the prestigious Guggenheim Fellowship, she continues to exhibit internationally.
Maryam will be teaching a beginning drawing class at MAA Gallery located in the Mountaineer Mall. During this 6-week session, students will explore a variety of drawing techniques including: doodling being free and fluid, going over the top, keeping it brief, using silhouette and gesture, counter drawing, tone and shading, stippling, starting in the dark, perspective and working with positive and negative spaces.
