ADHD & Trauma: A Women’s Group Conversation

Date: Saturday, August 31st
Time: 3:00–5:00 PM
Location: Central Resource Library, Logan Conference Room
Cost: Free (Registration Required – Limited Seats!)

What happens when ADHD and trauma intersect?

ADHD can make life feel overwhelming on its own — but when trauma is part of the picture, the challenges can multiply in ways that aren’t always obvious. Emotional dysregulation, rejection sensitivity, difficulty with trust, and struggles with identity are just a few of the ways trauma can shape the ADHD experience — especially for women.

What’s more, many individuals with ADHD grow up experiencing trauma directly related to their ADHD symptoms—from chronic criticism, exclusion, academic failure, and shame to strained family dynamics and bullying. These experiences can leave lasting emotional and neurological impacts, often going unrecognized and untreated.

Whether you’re navigating a history of trauma, still making sense of how it may affect your ADHD symptoms, or simply want to better understand your experiences, this session is for you.

Join us for this small group session led by Christina Pynn and Lauren Dreher, ADHDKC Women’s Group coordinators and fellow ADHD advocates. Christina and Lauren will begin with a short overview to help frame how ADHD and trauma overlap, particularly in women, followed by a supportive, open discussion among attendees.

This isn’t a therapy session—but it is a safe space to explore, share, and connect with others who get it.

🪑 Seats are limited—reserve yours today!

To keep the conversation meaningful and personal, space is limited. Registration is free, but required.
