Theatre raised me.
From Horace Mann to Parkview, from backstage to spotlight, the theatre loved me first and accepted me fully. I learned presence, timing, and problem-solving. It gave me confidence before I had words for it. As an adult, it gave me work. It gave me community. It gave me joy.
And now, as my role shifted to more patron than participant it still teaches me something I carry every day and into every industry:
✨ Real magic is possible when everyone, seen and unseen, commits in their unique role and contribution to working together and creating something beautiful. ✨
That’s what this is. This particular showing is happening because of a student I once mentored.. someone I helped guide behind the curtain… Xoje Jovanovic reached out. They saw the work of this space and wanted to offer something beautiful to the next generation of Little Rock kids: A private, full-stage children’s theatre performance.

This is a special performance added just for our Little Rock community. While Flurffy’s Secret Garden has other free public showings, this date was added specifically for us to create more access, more joy, and a chance to show up together. We’ll see the show and then play together in the park. 💜🌻

The story:
When a shy little girl arrives in town, Flurffy and his friends plan a garden party to welcome her only to face off with the mysterious Dr. Craven, who wants to keep them out of the enchanted garden.
The show features AMFA-crafted puppets, recycled props, original songs, and interactive play. It’s whimsical. Gentle. Joyful. And it’s happening again on June 28th at 2pm because someone cared enough to offer it with love.
