Traveller (2022 Update Edition): The Duke of Decadence

A Vargyr Duke has been involved in an ongoing geopolitical conflict on planet Gerrgh Vor. The players, who work for a Vargyr Duchess, are responding to the request from her second cousin, Duke Fennik Draal. The planet is claimed both by the Third Imperium and the Vargyr also claim this planet as theirs. The majority of planet's population is 60% Vargyr. It is also considered a relatively poor planet with limited economic interests. There is an Imperial Scout base that provides jobs for a lot of the Vargyr. However, the Vargyr population as a whole still resents the Imperial control.

There has been a bit of an uprising on the planet as Duke Fennik Draal has been accused of slave trading humans by the Imperium. Gerrgh Vor being on the outer territories of the Imperium and the relative dependence of Vargyr labor to keep the Scout Base functioning, there is an unstable political situation going on but the turning of a blind eye is becoming an issue now.

The players need to come down as a diplomatic envoy and help sort out the local situation.
