Opening Day Celebration FREE!
SATURDAY - Aug 9th, 2025!!
Celebrate Opening Day of our 28th Fall semester with a free day of community classes in Traditional Dance, Percussion (Bomba & Plena), Children's Coqui Dance, and Afro-Boricua Warrior Arts (Cocobalé).
Everyone is welcome from any culture or background!
Bomba Percussion class at 1pm and Plena Percussion class at 2pm. These classes for Adults & Teens teach traditional percussion rhythms from Puerto Rico, as well as other Boricua percussive rhythms relevant to our culture.
Instruments taught include barriles, panderos, large and small percussion. Lessons on Puerto Rican food, language, history, and more are added to enhance the base appreciation of Puerto Rican culture. Semesters culminate in high visibility performances including our June Heritage Festival and annual December musical.
