Canine Good Citizen

6-week class; $160

This class is suitable for dogs that have graduated from our Household Obedience 1 and/ or our Household Obedience 2 classes or Obedience classes elsewhere.
This title is mandatory when your dog is learning to become a Therapy Dog through our program.

Welcome to the American Kennel Club® Canine Good Citizen program.
The CGC Program is a two-part program that is designed to;
1) teach responsible dog ownership to owners and
2) certify dogs that have the training and behaviors needed to be reliable, well-behaved members of their families and communities.

The following will be trained in 5 weeks and the final test in week 6;
Accepting a friendly stranger
Sitting politely for petting
Appearance and grooming
Out for a walk (walking on a loose leash)
Walking through a crowd
Sit and down on command and staying in place
Coming when called
Reaction to another dog
Reaction to distractions
Supervised separation
