SWMLC Lupine Collection Volunteer Workday

The lupine seed is ready to be harvested! Could you please help us collect it?

Like any type of harvest, the window of opportunity is narrow, so we need to quickly jump on this and need lots of helping hands! The seeds that are collected will be used in the to enrich savanna habitat restorations in other parts of Chipman or at other SWMLC preserves.

This hands-on experience will connect you with nature and provide an opportunity to contribute to the health and sustainability of our environment.

ACTIVITIES
Easy! After brief instruction, it’s just a matter of getting down low, identifying the ripe pods, and pulling them from the lupine plants. We will supply small buckets and ropes for tying them to your waist (makes the picking easier). This activity is fun and appropriate for all ages.

REGISTRATION
Please register so we can be sure to have plenty of tools and snacks on hand!
