Beauty in Decay

Jointly hosted by Trood Morrison and Nisi Crerar, Beauty in Decay promises to be a very special yoga and meditation retreat spent deeply reconnecting to the transient beauty and fragility of being human.
By learning how to accept and embrace impermanence, we can live a richer, more rewarding life that brings joy and benefit to everyone in the here and now.
I'll (Trood) will be supporting you through asana (Hatha, Ashtanga & Yin) sequences as an opportunity for you to find your physical limits. Once there, we'll use that experience as a fertile ground for compassion-focused meditations (karuna and metta).
We'll be looking at questions such as why do we value youth over experience? Is it possible to overcome this Western conditioning? Why do we fear death? What would life look like if we didn't punish ourselves for our sagging bodies and graying hair? What does it even mean, to age well?
Autumn is the perfect time of year for us to ask these questions. To take advantage of what this season of fire and fog can teach us, Nisi will take our practice outside where you'll be encouraged to make contact with the wilderness via your senses ~ sight, sound, smell, touch and taste.
This retreat is suitable for those with some yoga experience and interest in yogic and Buddhist philosophy.
The cost of this retreat is £155 per person, with a £75 non-refundable deposit. You will need to book your accommodation directly with Samye Ling at the cost of £59 per night, payable on arrival.
The total cost of this retreat from Friday afternoon to Sunday Afternoon, including accommodation and food, is £273.
