Sit, stay, and read with some lovable canines who love books! During PAWS for Reading, kids in grades 1-5 can enjoy a private 15-minute session with a therapy dog, boosting their reading confidence. Sessions are held Wednesdays in June (11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.) and Thursdays in July (1 – 2 p.m.) at the library. Pre-registration is required for each date, and children must arrive 10 minutes early to sign in and select their books.
About Mid-South Therapy Dogs:
Mid-South Therapy Dogs’ R.E.A.D. program helps children improve reading and communication skills by pairing them with registered therapy dogs. The program promotes confidence and a love of books through positive, low-pressure interactions.
