The Dam Foolz of July

It’s finally here. The adventure ride you’ve been waiting for!! Scenic views!? Check! You want elevation? This rides got plenty. You want gravel? Got that too. How about some hike-a-bike? Maybe! There are parts of the route that can change daily. 36 miles, 2 dams with reservoirs and 2500 feet of elevation. The route is in the discussions forum. The speed of the group will decide the amount of time it takes but I’m guessing 6 hours max. We’ll park, meet, leave and return to Wheelock Park. The parking lot by the Bike Park. As with every Foolz Ride IT’S 100% FREE! (Donations Accepted) There will be a stocked snack stop half way through the route and a bbq at Wheelock at the end of the ride at one of the public grills so bring a chair for that!! NO ONE DROPPED!!! We will take plenty of breaks. Hammerdowns are welcome to attend but just know we’re not keeping up! This is what I like to call a “slow ride” which is even slower than “Party Pace”. Although this is the most difficult of the Foolz Ride Lineup it is totally doable if you have done the Boz’s April Fools ride or the Fooliage Ride. There is an amazing amount of support from all the riders in the Foolz Ride Community. If I’m not personally cheering you on, helping you change a flat or doing a trailside repair, there’s always someone! I also have a designated leader, middle man and caboose! There is pavement and roads shared with cars joining the routes but no highways. The best bike for this would be an XC MTB or a Gravel Bike but if you’re willing, any bike will work! Within reason… lol. Bring a patch kit, spare tube, multi tool and blinky light for the roads. Also bring full water bottles (restock at snack station), your personal favorite snacks and electrolytes, a willingness to crush some hills and see some cool things and a chair for the bbq at the end… if you’re attending it. Feel free to ask any questions and I really hope to see you there!!!
