Hike The Skye Trail

The Skye Trail is a well-known but little trodden route that stretches the length of the ancient Isle of Skye. The 127km unmarked route takes in the island’s most dramatic landscape, from the Trotternish Ridge to the Cuillin mountain range.
There are no waymarks along the way and many of the sections do not even have a path. However, hiking the trail from north to south in seven days, you’ll led by an experienced guide who is very familiar with the route.
The rewards along the way are many:
• Spectacular mountain views - passing under the shadow of the jagged Red and Black Cuillins, quite possibly the finest mountain range in Britain;
• Coastal scenery - from beaches to cliff-tops in areas that are remarkable but almost unvisited;
• Haunting ruins of villages, deserted in the highland clearances;• Visiting remote island communities, and;
• Superb opportunities for watching wildlife such as otters, golden eagles and the enormous white-tailed sea eagle (nicknamed the ‘flying barn door’!)
This route has been devised for those who prefer to get well away from the beaten track. This is a trip never to be forgotten!
