Workshop/ Course Description
Thursday 10th July
10am - 3pm

Join me to learn basic Machine Quilting and free machine quilting. (Click Find Ticket to take you to the booking site)

Quilting is very tactile and the mysteries of how to achieve it are revealed on this day course.
Class starts at 10am until 3pm/4pm
An excellent class on getting to know the effects of different patterns, types of wadding, needles & the best threads for your machine, as well as perfecting the art of stitch lengths & tension.
The main focus of the day will be Free Machining techniques & exercises to improve your confidence.
Create beautiful quilting designs with a main motif and infill patterns.

What To Bring
You will need to bring your sewing machine, hand book, extension table if you have one. Needles, size 90 for quilting, spare bobbins & machine quilting thread is weight 50 or 40. (I explain in more detail about needles & thread on the day, so just bring what you have if you don't have that)
Some 10-12" squares of wadding & plain 100% cotton tacked / sandwiched together for practicing on. You can use temporary spray adhesive or tacking thread & basting pins to do this
Walking foot, a free machine embroidery foot or free motion quilting foot.
(If you don't have a walking foot, I can recommend Exeter Sewing machines. Ring Chris & give him your machine model number & he will help you out.)
Note book & pencil & pen.
Fabric marking pencil or pen.
Scissors.
Don't forget I sell Cotton, wadding & threads & other paraphernalia in the shop.
Water bottle to keep hydrated (quilting is thirsty work) We do provide caffeine & non caffeine hot drinks however! A packed lunch or pocket money for one of our fabulous independent cafes in town.

If you don't have any of the above or aren't sure, please pop into the shop or give me a call on 07486062343
