A Cyanotype Print Making Workshop with Alan Withington

This hands-on workshop invites you to create beautiful sun-printed artworks using plants and natural materials found in the museum garden.
Since the invention of Cyanotype in 1842, this antiquated process has evolved from being used in the first photographically illustrated book ‘British Algae’ by Anna Atkins in 1843, to becoming a widespread method for copying architectural and engineering plans as “blueprints” well into the 20th century.
In recent decades, cyanotype has enjoyed a huge revival as an accessible art medium for beginners. One of the most enjoyable aspects of this photographic process is how easy it is to succeed straight away with just a little guidance.
Suitable for ages 16+.
No experience is necessary. All materials will be provided. Please wear old clothes, as there is a chance of stains on clothing not washing out.
Free admission. Donations to help cover the cost of materials are welcome.

Places are limited. Please book your place on Eventbrite https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/1418370798239?aff=oddtdtcreator
