In Praise of Song: Journeys in Music

Before adjourning for the summer break, Madrigal'75 warmly invites you to join us for one more concert, In Praise of Song, journeys in music!

Following on from the success of our most recent concert on May 17, we are thrilled to return to St. Patrick's Church, Lower Glanmire Road and welcome guests, the multi award-winning New Dublin Voices and their conductor, Bernie Sherlock who, like us, are celebrating an anniversary milestone this year!

The choirs will perform a bonanza of choral music for you, featuring sublime and festive contemporary settings of sacred works such as Caroline Shaw’s evocative Psalm 84, and Ivan Moody’s intimate settings of texts from the Song of Songs, alongside Ego flos campi, set by 16th-century composer, Clemens non Papa. The concert also features an Irish premiere of a work by Mason Bates, as well as some arrangements of Irish traditional songs by Eoin Conway, finishing with Joby Talbot’s Santiago from the Path of Miracles.

The concert is on Saturday, 28th June and starts at 4:00pm. Free Admission with a retiring collection in support of St Patrick's Church.

A lovely way to spend a summer's afternoon, we would love to see you there for an hour of sublime choral music!
