Due to popular request, this special course has been designed to help you master hard cheese and sourdough bread in ‘real time’. Over the TWO days, you will develop your artisan culinary skills as we separate curds and whey, press cheeses overnight, stretch and fold sourdough bread and so much more…
Sara Ward will welcome you to Hen Corner with fresh coffee and home made bakes. After an introduction to our time together we will start making our first cheese following the whole process from beginning to end. Whilst the milk ripens and sets, we will turn our hand to sourdough bread; the original craft. Other skills, techniques and recipes will be woven into our time together as will opportunity to stroll around the garden visiting the chickens and bees, and discover how we are choosing to live a more sustainable life.
This course is a natural follow on to Introduction To Making Cheese and Full Day Making Sourdough
Whilst the cheeses are straining and breads are proving, we will enjoy a simple lunch to fuel us for the tasks of the afternoon.

-Handmade Butter
-Cheese Waxing Demonstration

-Sourdough Crumpets
-Whey Soda Bread
-Buttermilk Scones
Everyone takes home their own creations, with cheese maturing instructions, and are sent the recipes to make each item again.
