November's wine tasting will feature wines from the Sicilian Winery, LunaGaia. Please note the change in date from August due to scheduling conflict!
Born from a partnership between Cantina Orsogna cooperative and BioGaia, a biodynamic Sicilian farmer collective. LunaGaia labels are a visual homage to L'Opera dei Pupi Siciliana (the Sicilian Puppet Opera), a Sicilian storytelling tradition & UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
LunaGaia line of wines tell the story of the Italian Epic poem "Orlando Furioso" (The Frenzy of Orlando) by Ludovico Ariosto. A chivalric romance prose that mixes realism, fantasy, humor and tragedy that recounts the battle between Charlemagne's Knights, the Saracen army and the love of pagan princess Angelica. Each wine label intertwines a character and narrative from the poem.
Tastings at Now You're Cooking are free and open to anyone 21+. We host a regular wine tasting the 2nd Thursday of each month and sometimes more! No need to sign up in advance, just show up. We provide snacks to nibble on while you taste. The tasting wines & beers are always offered at a special discount if you'd like to buy any to bring home. It's a great opportunity to stock up!
