Join us for a FREE film screening of an episode of “Archipelago New York” followed by a talk with the filmmaker, Thomas Halaczinsky, on Thursday, July 10, starting at 7:00 pm!
“Archipelago New York” is a fascinating three-part documentary series by Thomas Halaczinsky, loosely based on his book by the same title. The films document a modern-day exploration of the New York island world by sailboat. We will be screening Episode 2 of the series "Wildlife in the City," exploring how, after 300 million years, animals have adapted to the expanding urban environment.
Following the screening, join filmmaker Thomas Halaczinsky for an insightful conversation about the making of the documentary, and get a peek at his next project about Plum Island, shedding new light on its past and exploring its present after the federal laboratory was decommissioned.
This program is free, but registration is requested at longislandmuseum.org/events
