With the release of the highly anticipated Final Fantasy x MTG crossover, we’re excited to launch the Chocobo Racing Event Series at The Bearded Dragon!
Inspired by the FINAL FANTASY VII mini-game “Chocobo Racing,” this weekly series transforms our Friday Night Magic Booster Drafts and select Sealed events in June and July into a points-based league where players race toward exclusive Final Fantasy-themed rewards.
Players earn points each time they participate—bringing them closer to prizes with every event. You can join as often as you'd like, and friends and family are welcome to race with you!
Friday Night Magic – Final Fantasy Booster Draft at The Bearded Dragon
Time: Fridays at 7:00 PM
Entry Fee: $25
Format: Booster Draft using Final Fantasy Play Boosters (3 rounds)
Join us each Friday to draft the new Final Fantasy crossover set, play three rounds of Swiss, and climb the Chocobo Racing leaderboard.
Prizes for Everyone:
3–0 Record: Choose 1 Foil Promo Pack, $25 Store Credit, or 6 Final Fantasy Play Boosters
2–1 Record: Choose 1 Regular Promo Pack, $10 Store Credit, or 2 Final Fantasy Play Boosters
Other Results: 1 Final Fantasy Play Booster – just for playing!
Additional promo card prizes available while supplies last
No preregistration is required — just sign up in-store the day of, prior to the event start.
Chocobo Racing League Prizes
As the season progresses, players accumulate points to unlock exclusive rewards:
Point Structure:
3 points per Draft or Sealed event (excluding Prerelease)
1 point per match win
1 bonus point for bringing a new player who signs up for a Wizards Account and participates
Milestone Rewards:
10 points: Foil Chocobo art print
20 points: Chocobo Pinfinity AR pin
