The AKC Fit Dog Titles recognize owners and their dogs for staying active together. The program encourages regular exercise through walking, running, or other fitness activities. There are three title levels:
• Bronze – Walk 75 minutes a week for 8 weeks plus two club walks or other activities.
• Silver – Walk 150 minutes a week for an additional 8 weeks plus two more club walks or other activities.
• Gold – Walk 150 minutes a week for 8 weeks plus two more club walks or other activities.
Participants log their walks and submit records to earn their titles. The program promotes a healthy lifestyle for both dogs and owners!
Dog Etiquette• Dogs must be leashed at all times (unless in a designated off-leash area).
• Use a fixed-length leash (no retractable leashes for safety).
• Dogs should be socialized and non-aggressive toward other dogs and people.
• Pick up after your dog—bring waste bags and dispose of them properly.
Owner Responsibilities
• Ensure your dog is up to date on vaccinations and in good health.
• Maintain control of your dog at all times—no excessive pulling, jumping, or disruptive behavior.
• Be mindful of other walkers—keep a safe distance if needed.
• Bring water for you and your dog, especially in warm weather.
Group Walk Guidelines
• Arrive on time and respect the planned route and pace of the group.
• Follow local park rules and stay on designated trails and/or community side walks.
• If a dog becomes reactive or overwhelmed, step aside to let the group pass or leave if necessary.

These rules help create a safe, fun, and welcoming experience for all members and their dogs
