Saturday, June 21, come journey with us on a history field trip across Silver Street, to our neighbors at Universalist Unitarian Church, (69 Silver St., Waterville). This is a collaborative event with the UU Church and Waterville Historical Society. Opportunities like this—stepping inside a historic church and delving into its rich story beyond the usual services—are rare! Discover the fascinating origins of Waterville’s church buildings and embark on an exclusive guided tour led by Kit Alexander—admire stunning architectural details, beautiful stained glass memorial windows, and much more. Also, learn about events which changed how the church looks today and even which way it now faces! Saturday, June 21 at 2:00. While waiting for your tour, you can also see photos and hear the early history of the Unitarian Church and Ware Parlors in Waterville (which no longer exist). The parking is limited at the church. If you are able to park and walk over from the Redington Museum parking lot, please do so. For those who would prefer not to negotiate the stairs or lower entrance sidewalk at the church, their glass lift will be available with an operator to assist with moving between the floors. You can drive up and drop off your passengers at the lift entrance, accessible on the Elm Street side, to the left of the front steps. We will begin the tour by meeting in the Averill Parlors (downstairs).
