Math in Nature Day Camp

Summer camps are back at BMCC Baker County! Led by Harvard Graduate Elaine Swanson, our Math in Nature Day Camps explore the mathematics found in nature. Campers will learn about topics such as photosynthesis, leaf and flower morphology, and Earth science. Through engaging games and active learning activities, students will enhance their math skills while fostering curiosity about the connection between biology and mathematics. They will also have the opportunity to participate in the Math in Nature Art Show at Sūnn Juice + Decor in Baker City.
Dates:
Camp 1: K-2nd Grades – June 20th, 21st, and 22nd
Camp 2: K-2nd Grades – July 11th, 12th, and 13th
Camp 3: 3rd-5th Grades – July 25th, 26th, and 27th
Art Show: K-5th Grades – August 8th and 9th
Times: 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. daily
Friday and Saturday – Games, art, in-class instruction at BMCC Baker County, 3370 10th St. Suite H, Baker City, OR
Sunday – Outdoor field trip to Phillips Ford Park
Cost: Free + Lunch provided daily!
