Lagoons Gallery Exhibition 'The Journey Home' by Pamela Finger
This exhibition explores my sense of home and place—both physical and from memory.
A home is made of more than bricks and mortar it is the feeling it gives and memories it makes inside of you. It encompasses the areas around it.
Flora, fauna, geology and weather are the core elements of this exhibition. It is about the journey and arrival home and how that makes you feel no matter how far away you have been or how you travel.
Pamela is passionate about the natural environment and especially Australia’s beautiful and sometimes quirky flora. She paints with curiosity, wanting to explore the form, texture and light. She likes to capture all elements of the environment, from the detail within a flower to vast bellowing clouds.
This exhibition is on display Wednesday, June 4 to Sunday, June 29 in the Lagoons Gallery within the Botanic Gardens Cafe.
The cafe and gallery are open Wednesday to Friday, 9am to 2pm and weekends, 8am to 3pm (closed Mondays and Tuesdays and public holidays).
