Sustainable Fashion Workshop

For ages 11 - 18
Join Wendy, Judy, and Samantha and expand your knowledge about our fashion footprint.
This is a 2 session workshop on July 10 and 17.
You do NOT need to be enrolled in 4-H to attend.
Are you constantly going to your closet and thinking “I have nothing to wear?”
Do you find your fashion ideas hard to create with your current budget?
Do you have the same 3 items you keep wearing over and over?
Then this workshop is for you!
Day One: You will learn how to mend and recycle our current wardrobe with life skills to be used through a lifetime of clothes. Learn to sew on buttons, replace elastics, take in or let out a seam, patch a hole, and hem pants, with hands on practice and demonstrations.
Day Two: You will have the opportunity to find your style by searching for and paring down the different fashion categories that are trending, as well as thinking about fast fashion purchases.
We will be teaching how to shop second-hand for the latest fashion trend in a thrift store or our own closet.
Those who participate can enter our Sustainable Fashion exhibit at the Herkimer County Fair with a thrifted or secondhand clothing ensemble.
Any questions please call Wendy 315-866-7920.
