Collaborating with Beaver for a Resilient Future - Online

Beaver can build water security and habitat resiliency for your land. They can also be a nuisance. This class will introduce beaver biology, what they do, and why they do it. Then we will discuss long-term, cost-effective solutions to the various problems beaver can cause with infrastructure, agricultural lands, and landscaping.
We will also present a strategic approach for beaver-based restoration on your land. In the field, we will tour one of the largest beaver-created wetlands in our region. Those who are willing can help with a trash clean-up.
This class will be offered in two parts: a Zoom presentation on July 23, 6-7:30 pm and a field visit in Cave Junction on July 26, 9am-12pm. The field visit portion is open to Jackson County Residents only.
Cost is $15 or sliding scale. Fees help support the Land Steward Program.
