Rock Climbers Crack Climbing Day at Consumnes River Gorge

Spend the day climbing the cracks at Consumnes River Gorge near Placerville! If you are looking for a way to learn how to crack climb, meet awesome new people, and enjoy a day outside climbing on just about every type of crack, this event is for you!

You'll learn:

-Techniques for liebacking, hand and finger jamming, chimney, and off-width climbing.
-How to prepare for a crack climb; such as how to tape your hands, read a topo, etc.
-Our class takes place outdoors in Placerville at the Consumnes River Gorge, and is designed to be very hands on. You will be learning by doing. You will be climbing various cracks throughout the day, and having your technique critiqued by our professional guide and instructor.
-All necessary gear will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own gear if you’d like to practice placing gear with your own rack.

If you are dreaming of climbing walls in the High Sierra, in places like Sequoia/Kings Canyon, Yosemite National Park, or places like Joshua Tree or Indian Creek, you need to be able to crack climb. The best place to learn how to crack climb close to the Bay Area, is the Consumnes River Gorge.
