A thoughtful, clever lyricist with a tender voice, the Minneapolis-based troubadour crafts songs that are catchy and relatable, and span the emotional gamut from poignancy to whimsy. jeremy is one of those rare artists who can break your heart one minute, and then put those fragile pieces back together again the next.

Sophie Hiroko describes her music as "tender bubble grunge". Hiroko is the 2025 Palomino Grant award winner from Trampled by Turtles and will be opening for Trampled by Turtles this summer at their annual Bayfront concert in July.

2025 is our 10th Anniversary of Concerts on the Pier, and we are celebrating by looking back at the past 9 years!

The event is free and open to the public from 5 to 8 pm. Gates open at 5 pm, however, for those interested, early access can be obtained by purchasing grounds admission or a tour. Each night, the opener will perform from 5:30-6 pm and the headliner will play from 6:30-8 pm.

At Concerts, guests can connect with neighbors and friends, play lawn games, grab some grub from a local food truck, enjoy a refreshing drink, eat locally-made ice cream, and take a seat by the shores of Lake Superior. Guests are encouraged to paddle or boat in to view the concert from the water or are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the show from the shore.

For each concert this year, Glensheen will also offer a free shuttle bus (with a suggested donation) between the UMD campus and Glensheen. Parking at UMD is free. More information can be found at https://glensheen.org/concerts/event-information/.
