Music of the Bard: An Apprentice Program for Singers Recital

Presented by the Santa Fe Opera, MUSIC OF THE BARD is a free recital that celebrates the enduring literary brilliance and wit of William Shakespeare, Bard of Avon. Featuring eight Apprentice Singers, this concert showcases the profound interplay between music and literature, where timeless words inspire rich musical expression.

Showcasing music by Purcell, Chausson, Stravinsky, Schubert, Blitzstein, Korngold, Larsen and Quilter, MUSIC OF THE BARD demonstrates how composers across eras and styles have reimagined Shakespeare’s poetry and drama into vivid musical expressions – offering a musical journey that bridges the past and present.
