Join us for our next section night, featuring David Barnes from Herenga ā Nuku Aotearoa – the Outdoor Access Commission!
Formerly known as the NZ Walking Access Commission, Herenga ā Nuku plays a key role in improving public access to the outdoors across Aotearoa.
David Barnes, a former FMC executive member and the Commission’s Regional Field Advisor for our area, will share insights into his work advocating for better outdoor access. He’ll take us through some of the current projects in the pipeline – including exciting developments that could enhance access to remote parts of the Tararua and Ruahine Ranges.
Come along to learn about how access work happens behind the scenes, what challenges and opportunities exist, and how trampers and climbers can get involved in supporting and protecting access for the future.
