No, you donβt need to be a diver to join the Team.
In fact, even if you are a certified diver, it is a very long process for you to become a Team Diver.
We do so much more than dive, in fact putting a diver in the water is a last resort for us.
We use technology to search, verify, document, and when possible, recover items or people.
Everyone on the Team must become certified as a Team Surface Support Technician and be able to operate all of our equipment (remotely operated vehicles, unmanned aerial systems, sonar units, operate boats, etc.), manage diver safety, etc.
To be an Operational Team Member you must live within an hour of Anchorage, be at least 18 years old, have no felonies, be able to pass a background check and attend meetings, trainings and deploy on missions. You will be a probationary member until you complete a training and skill checklist.
We also have positions for Non Operational Members (non deployable positions).
