Alliance Gallery is launching the Art Connects Talk Series—an ongoing conversation with artists, educators, arts and humanities professionals, and community leaders exploring the vital intersections of art, education, mental health, and social connection.
Join us on June 25, 5:30 PM for the first event in the series, featuring Sone-Seeré Burrell, an art therapist, educator, and visual artist. In her talk, Arts and Healing: Empowering Youth through Creative Expression, Burrell will explore how art can be a powerful tool for emotional healing, self-discovery, and community empowerment. She will share insights into the therapeutic potential of art, the importance of youth engagement, and the role of collective creative experiences in fostering well-being.
Participants will take part in a brief, guided art-making experience and connect in small groups to reflect on the process. The evening will also include a Q&A session and a spotlight on student work featured in the ACC Student Show: Fable, currently on view at Alliance Gallery.
Whether you're an artist, educator, student, or community member, we invite you to be part of this enriching conversation on art and healing. This event is free and open to the public.
Please RSVP, as space is limited.
