The Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden is excited to invite you to our Annual Tanabata Festival on Saturday, July 6th from 1–3 PM!
Also known as the Star Festival, Tanabata is inspired by the Japanese legend of Orihime and Hikoboshi—two star-crossed lovers separated by the Milky Way who are allowed to meet only once a year, on the seventh day of the seventh month. On this special day, people write their wishes on colorful strips of paper and hang them from bamboo trees, filling the air with hope and dreams.
