The New Town Stomper will make another appearance at the Edinburgh Jazz 'n Jive Club. The band present uplifting Rags, Trad and Old-Time Jazz and Blues from the 1900s to the 1930s. Amongst deep dives into the treasure trove of masterpieces, the ensemble also deliver old favourites as well as original tunes done with solid reverence to the Hot Roots and Pop music that became known as Jazz.
The band's line-up for this evening will be Matt Curtis on banjo and guitar, Mike Summers on the cornet, Campbell Normand as pianist, Danielle Price on the tuba, Murray Wham on reeds and Ali Affleck as percussionist and vocalist.
The Edinburgh Jazz 'n Jive Club offers on Fridays live Jazz music in a relaxed club house atmosphere, with a bar and an excellent, wooden dance floor. The music is generally suitable for dancing Foxtrot and Swing (Lindy Hop, Shag, Balboa). Come along to listen to superb Jazz and to dance the evening away!
No need to book in advance, just come along! The entry fee is £12 for non-members and £10 for members. Entry is free for accompanying carers and accompanied children. The fee can be paid at the door by card and cash. The main entrance is from Bangholm Terrace, with step-free access from Warriston Gardens corner Inverleith Row.
