Community Juneteenth Celebration

This is an excellent opportunity for the members of the Wilcox County community to come together. Betty Anderson curated this demonstration and celebration to incorporate the history of slavery in local areas such as Gees Bend. Juneteenth marks the celebration of the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. We will gather together for music, food and art.
The museum will be open for tours during the day. Come out to see the photo exhibit of sharecropper’s on display in the museum and stay for the Community Juneteenth Celebration.
